2017 mHealth Training Institute @UCLA

Registration is now open for the 2017 mHealth Training Institute (mHTI) to be held at the University of California, Los Angeles (https://mhealth.md2k.org/mhealth-training-institute)

The premier training institute of its kind, the NIH-funded mHTI seeks to develop the next-generation of academic mHealth researchers. The unique transdisciplinary incubator brings together researchers from disparate backgrounds for a week-long, immersive, residential boot-camp in all things mHealth. Beyond providing the participants with a core educational grounding in transdisciplinary perspectives and methodologies essential to mHealth innovation, the mHTI seeks to inculcate the intrapersonal and interpersonal skills and connections necessary for cross-cutting research. Distinctive elements include: a) transdisciplinary faculty comprising of academic, industry and NIH thought-leaders with mHealth training priors and a deep commitment to educating the next generation of transdisciplinary mHealth researchers, (b) Problem-based, team-science projects that build on the didactic core and allow trainees from disparate disciplines to apply their expertise jointly to a specific health problem, (c) Multi-mentoring of each team by experienced mentors from different disciplines and (d) Training in soft skills essential for academic success. Unstructured free-time and social networking events help seed new connections and foster long-term collaborations. The team capstone projects result in formal NIH grant proposals.

There are no registration fees and the selected scholars will be provided with lodging and boarding at the UCLA Luskin Conference Center and receive a travel subsidy.
