Pre-doctoral Students at USC to Receive SC CTSI Research Training Awards

The Trainees will begin their course work on July 1, 2014 to develop critical clinical and translational research skills.

The TL1 Trainee program is part of SC CTSI Education, Career Development, and Ethics. It offers curricula for clinical translational science, seminars devoted to career development, and short courses for pre- and post-doctoral scholars and trainees. Resources include:

  • Trainees full stipend support during the first year of program;
  • Tuition/fee support of up to $14,000 during the first year of the program;
  • Research related funds of up to $3,986;
  • $2,000 to attend the Annual Clinical Translational Science Award Conference;
  • Didactic coursework in three Clinical Translational Research courses as part of the Certificate in Clinical, Biomedical, and Translational Investigations (CBTI);
  • Career Development Seminars;
  • Work-in-Progress; and
  • Access to core faculty who provide expertise and guidance in research design, biostatistical analysis.
