OVERVIEW: The SC CTSI is developing tools to allow investigators to increase the incorporation of patient-generated data in their clinical research.

GOALS: To expand data collection in clinical research to include patient-generated health data.

CURRENT STATUS: SC CTSI is partnering with Vanderbilt University to revamp the mobile application MyCap.  MyCap allows research teams to interact with study participants via their phones.  The first phases of this initiative will make MyCap more user-friendly, customizable, and adaptable for use by researchers and participants alike.  Later phases will expand the capabilities to collect information (with permission, of course) directly from sensors on the participant’s phone and even extend to non-phone sensors such as personal health monitors (Fitbit etc).
