Dena will aid the SC CTSI in facilitating scientific reviews of studies and connecting clinical subjects to research projects.

Professional Background

Dena is also a Grant Writer at the Keck School of Medicine, where she works with researchers to fund and sustain dermatological clinical trials. She previously served as a grants and development coordinator at an environmental justice organization based in Venice, CA. She has previous experience working with a variety of legal, arts, and social service nonprofits, including Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Los Angeles and Asian American Writers' Workshop. Dena received her B.A. in Political Science and Ethnicity and Race Studies from Columbia University, where she completed a thesis concerning print media coverage of the 1992 L.A. riots. She is also very interested in research at the nexus of medical sociology and ethnic studies, and she hopes to pursue more education in these fields. 

Interests

In her free time, Dena enjoys hiking, listening to comedic podcasts, and practicing her visual art.
