SC CTSI Role

At the SC CTSI, Dr. Kezirian co-directs the Introduction to Clinical and Translational Research Study Design course with Dr. Cecilia Patino-Sutton. The course combines didactic training in core concepts in study design with practical application whereby students develop the essential elements of a research protocol addressing a research question of their choice.

Professional Background

Dr. Kezirian is one of the world’s leading surgeons and researchers specializing in snoring and obstructive sleep apnea surgery and is the Past President of the International Surgical Sleep Society. Prior to coming to USC, he was on the faculty at UCSF, where he was a KL2 scholar. His research addresses fundamental questions in sleep surgery, including evaluation techniques that are designed to improve surgical outcomes and the examination of new treatments.
