Associate Director, Evaluation & Improvement

SC CTSI Role

Working closely with the SC CTSI Directors and core groups, Ms. North leads the tracking and evaluating of SC CTSI work and services, recommending and making improvements as needed, and supporting reporting and dissemination of productivity and successes. She supports SC CTSI in evaluation planning and implementation, integrating practices of continuous quality improvement, and managing tracking and reporting for planning and programmatic review.  Ms. North is responsible for the supervision and strategic guidance of the EI group.

Professional Background

Gemma North has ten years of experience developing monitoring and evaluation plans to guide learning and improvement, establishing Results Based Accountability frameworks, and empowering others to use metrics to inform research and initiatives. Prior to joining SC CTSI, Ms. North was the Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation at the Youth Policy Institute in Los Angeles where she oversaw performance monitoring and measuring the collective impact of programs supporting families in high-poverty communities. 

 

Ms. North has an MA in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, Heller School for Social Policy and Management. In addition, she has completed the Results-Based Leadership program from the Annie E. Casey Foundation.  She is passionate about supporting others to use information and data to have a greater impact on their work and communities. 

Interests

Traveling as much as possible, gardening, cooking, running, and discovering new places to eat in LA
