SC CTSI Role

Janelle Gonzalez is a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), for the Clinical Research Support Office (CRSO) at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Janelle Gonzalez provides services to the departments of Neonatology, Neurosurgery, and GI. In her role as a CRC, Janelle Gonzalez manages, coordinates, and facilitates everything associated to clinical trials that are NIH funded, investigator initiated and industry sponsored. She is involved from initial submission, budget negotiation, to study compliance. She manages patient screening, recruitment, specimen collection, and processing. She states “it is an honor to be part of the research community and involved in the discovery of innovative treatments and cures for diseases affecting the pediatric population”.

Professional Background

Janelle Gonzalez began her research career in the department of Pediatric Surgery. She transitioned to the CRSO as she wanted broader exposure in the field. She is currently working on her MS in Health Information Management in hopes of becoming a research data manager or data analyst. 

Interests

Traveling, Hikes with her fur babies, and relaxing whenever possible.
