Sofie is a Clinical Research Coordinator I for the CRSO placed in the Emergency Department at CHLA. She is currently working on the Validation of Decision Rules for CT Use in Children with Abdominal or Head Trauma study, a 5 year multicenter study. Sofie also assists with other research studies in the Emergency Department, including fellowship research projects.

Professional Background
Sofie came to CHLA from Easterseals, a non-profit disability services organization, where she was a Behavior Interventionist for children with Autism for 2 years. Prior to that, Sofie was an AmeriCorps member for the City Year program where she was a full time tutor, mentor, and role model for at risk students at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights. Sofie became interested in research as an undergraduate student at Occidental College where she took many research focused classes. Sofie was drawn to CHLA for the opportunity to combine her passion of working with children with her enthusiasm for research.
Interests
Sofie enjoys going to the beach, playing water polo, trying out new restaurants, and hanging out with her fiancé, Alex, and their cat, Royce.
