Professional Background

Xiomara graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2020, where she completed her undergraduate degree in General Biology. During her time there, she volunteered at LAC+USC Medical Center and tutored first-generation college students like herself. Upon graduating, she gained more clinical experience through working as a Medical Assistant in Pasadena. On the weekends, she volunteers with Cut Covid, an initiative to address COVID-19 disparities in Black and Brown communities in South LA. Xiomara’s experiences inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare to serve underserved communities in the greater Los Angeles area and reduce health disparities.

Interests

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing soccer, roller skating, and spending time with family and friends.
