The SC CTSI team offers assistance in adapting traditional research methods to the community setting, while maintaining scientific rigor. This may include but is not limited to:
- Providing guidance on how to engage the community in creating research questions or review data collection instruments and protocols,
- Including community and stakeholder perspectives into research projects,
- Guiding researchers through the community research process to make projects more relevant to the community of interest, ultimately benefiting researchers and community members.
Assistance with study design ensures that investigators’ research will incorporate the tenets of Community-Based research to provide answers to their outcomes of interest. Our guidance is supported by our own experience designing and implementing community-based studies.
Our entire range of services is completely free of charge, and can continue until your needs have been met. In instances when more ongoing and hands on assistance is needed (e.g., focus group facilitation, data analysis), we can work with your team to establish a reasonable fee for service.
