OVERVIEW: Team science is a core component of successful clinical and translational research through the SC CTSI. To expand our capabilities in team science, the Research Development (RD) core within SC CTSI has partnered with the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences (IRISS) at Colorado State University (CSU) to develop a Team Fostering Program. The program will include training materials, team-monitoring tools, and team science facilitation tailored to three team developmental stages: Team Assembly, Team Launch, and Team Sustainability.

GOALS: Apply principles of team science to foster and support multidisciplinary teams in the conduct of impactful clinical and translational research.

CURRENT STATUS: Lead members of the SC CTSI RD team completed a workshop in team science with IRISS. The RD team is currently developing an online workshop focused on developing effective teams in the context of healthcare delivery science and research team collaboration. IRISS has conducted focus groups with teams currently working in healthcare delivery science which have provided important insights that will inform the development of the workshop. This workshop is just the first in a series of workshops that will be developed in collaboration with IRISS. The next steps in this initiative will be to complete the healthcare delivery science workshop to be made available in the fall.
