SC CTSI Role

Allison Orechwa supports the development of new programs and services at SC CTSI, in collaboration with the institute leadership and program staff. She helped start up the Clinical Research Support group, which now offers budgeting, recruitment, and coordinator services to USC investigators. Other major projects that Dr. Orechwa has managed include the DEWARS data warehouse for research and the implementation science collaboration with UCLA and LA County Department of Health Services. In addition to working with individual programs, she also ensures coordination across programs to help SC CTSI reach its overall goals.

Professional Background

Prior to the SC CTSI, Dr. Orechwa worked as an Education Research Analyst in the Standards and Review Office of the U.S. Department of Education. She earned a PhD from USC in cognitive neuroscience with an emphasis on functional neuroimaging of the brain’s language and reading networks.
