Community Outreach Coordinator

SC CTSI Role

As a Community Outreach Coordinator, Esther supports academic-community partnerships and participates in community program planning in South Los Angeles, with a specific focus on the Black community. While developing and maintaining partnerships, she will be designing and conducting educational workshops and focus groups. Additionally, she will support new programs to create awareness about research and wellness issues relevant to the Black community.

Professional Background

Esther graduated from Occidental College in Spring 2022 with a degree in Black Studies. Her senior thesis focused on Black women’s holistic wellness practices as a means for liberation and intergenerational healing. She has work experience in public health, mental wellness, and community organizing.

Interests

Esther is a Reiki II and breathwork practitioner and enjoys learning about new ways to bring wellness to herself and her community.
