Clinical Research Coordinator I

SC CTSI Role

Johanna's role at SC CTSI is to assist in coordination of study participant activities including recruitment, screening, orientation and correspondence. She is responsible for organizing and scheduling assessments/tests/activities to meet research objectives and study protocol compliance. She collects, records, enters, and prepares data for analysis. She works to ensure consent process is performed and documented in compliance with FDA, GCP, IRB, HIPAA, SOPs, sponsor and institutional regulations and policies. Additionally, she assists in the preparation of site for monitor visit and external/internal audits.

Professional Background

Johanna attended UC Berkeley and received a B.A. in Public Health. She was a Clinical Research Coordinator at ProSciento, a leading specialized clinical research organization (CRO), where she Operated an average of six to eight clinical trials in the field of diabetes, metabolism, and endocrinology. She worked as a Bilingual Research Coordinator at Bienestar where she recruited 60 HIV+ Latino MSM subjects for a Randomized Controlled Trial aimed to increase adherence to their Antiretroviral Medications and address coping with discrimination through a culturally tailored intervention. She was also a Research Assistant at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA where she screened, recruited, and enrolled 177 research subjects in accordance with IRB approved protocols for an Early Childhood Developmental care coordination study aimed at increasing recipients of developmental services for children 1-3 years.

Interests

My interests outside of work include hiking, playing basketball, and going to the gym. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends.
