Community Outreach Coordinator, Community Engagement
SC CTSI Role
As a Community Outreach Coordinator, Natayla supports academic-community partnerships and participates in community program planning in South Los Angeles, with a specific focus on the Black community.
While developing and maintaining partnerships, she designs and conducts educational workshops and focus groups. Additionally, Natayla supports new programs to create awareness about research and wellness issues relevant to the Black community.
Natayla also works in underserved communities, helping to develop and promote popular health topics in South LA, as well as promoting and conducting outreach for community health events in the area.
Additionally, her roles include:
- Organizing and facilitating health fairs, screenings, and wellness events.
- Collaborating with local organizations, schools, and faith-based institutions to provide health education and resources.
- Advocating for health equity by addressing food access, chronic disease prevention, and mental health awareness.
- Connecting community members to healthcare services and research opportunities.

Natayla joined Community Engagement after immersing herself in the Promotores de Salud Health Model and leading community-based workshops on parenting and leadership with Best Start Metro LA.
