SC CTSI Role

Dr. Succar serves as a consultant for the Regulatory Knowledge and Support (RKS) within the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC-CTSI). In this role, he focuses on developing innovative strategies to enhance the quality, validity and safety of clinical trials conducted in academic medical centers by implementing a Quality by Design (QbD) framework. Additionally, Dr. Succar contributes to the creation of educational programs designed for clinical trial professionals.

Professional Background

Dr. Succar is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Regulatory and Quality Sciences, USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is the director of the innovative Master of Science in Clinical Trial Management program:

Prior to this role he completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, Department of Ophthalmology, and earned his Master of Science in Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) and PhD from The University of Sydney, Australia. He previously worked at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Harvard Medical School, where he managed global and national multisite clinical trials investigating pharmaceuticals, stem cell and gene therapies, medical devices and combination products.

Interests

Tony enjoys exploring the beautiful coasts of California, watching rugby and is an avid USC Trojans football fan.
