To utilize managed care data for research purposes.
To compare alternative economic evaluation techniques such as cost-benefit analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis.
To calculate an incremental cost-effectiveness ratio.
To utilize “natural experiments” to advance our understanding of health policy.
