This proposal entitled “Regulation of Glioma Cancer Stem Cells by the Tumor Vasculature” will address the critical clinical problem of drug resistance in recurrent gliomas by focusing on the interactions between tumor-associated brain endothelial cells (tumor-EC), present in the tumor microenvironment, and the glioma cancer stem cells (CSC). The overall goal is to identify the pathway(s) leading to tumor-EC drug resistance thereby providing new potential clinical targets for therapy.
