The goal of AAPS-USC is to inform researchers and students on the latest advances and discoveries in life sciences to provide opportunities for professional advancement and leadership development, and to foster student participation in outreach activities that further the goals and objectives of AAPS at the local, regional and national levels. The AAPS-USC chapter is one of the most active student chapters in the United States and is involved in organizing several events throughout the year including pharmaceutical industry visits for students, supporting student registration and attendance of the monthly Southern California AAPS meetings and lecture series. The most important event for AAPS-USC is organizing and hosting an annual multidisciplinary scientific meeting. This year's theme is "Neurodegenerative Disease: Therapeutic challenges and opportunities.
