Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a condition frequently encountered in children and is characterized by limited therapeutic response to medical therapy. Recent reports suggest that the gut microbiome can influence disease activity and recent clinical trial suggests improvement of symptoms in 78% of children with UC afer fecal transplant. Funding for this study will enable the characterization of the effect of the fecal transplant on the gut microbiome in children with ulcerative colitis.
