Service description

This service is offered to investigators who are submitting their first research project grant (R01) to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The SC CTSI provides support to address questions for this type of grant:

  • Readiness for first R01 grant,
  • Strong transition plan from mentored to independent researcher,
  • Adequate environmental support, and
  • Interaction with NIH during pre-submission time.

Other resources (e.g., books, templates, etc.) are available in order to provide additional guidance on how to write a strong R01 grant. Also with ample time provided, critical feedback on the application are provided prior to grant submission.
