OVERVIEW: SC CTSI is leading a university-wide initiative to improve clinical research processes. Current focus is on reducing trial activation times and improving recruitment and retention.

GOALS: To improve overall performance of clinical studies by reducing barriers to their conduct.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES: Building on that success, we are now planning a second project to further reduce start-up time and improve accrual rates. Our Clinical Research Support core is collaborating with the IRB and Clinical Trials Office on a number of strategies, including investigator education, iStar updates, and lean process improvement to address bottlenecks.
