Professional Background
Dr. Smith worked as a physical therapist before returning to pursue research as a career. She holds a B.S. in Anthropology-Zoology from the University of Michigan, MSPT and DPT degrees from Boston University, and a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan. She did her post-doctoral training in Neurology at Oregon Health and Science University.
