SC CTSI Role

Celine supports clinical research at USC and LA County DHS by facilitating clinical data requests and the extraction process for electronic health record (EHR) data. She works closely with investigators to design and implement tailored research solutions that enable accurate and efficient data retrieval, while ensuring compliant and timely access to patient data for their studies. Celine also provides administrative and technical support for the Clinical Research Informatics core’s data discovery and management tools and services, This includes support for REDCap, used by over 9,000 users across USC and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to manage their research projects.

Professional Background

Celine earned her B.S. in Cognitive Science with a minor in Statistics and a specialization in computation from UCLA. She then completed her M.S. in Nutrition, Health Span, and Longevity and dietetic internships at USC, including rotations at USC Norris Cancer Center, Keck Medicine’s Bariatric Surgery and Weight Loss Management Center, and the Abdominal Organ Transplant Center, aiming to apply her technical background to data-driven health and nutrition research. As a graduate student, Celine performed data analyses, published research, and presented findings with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), CA-LEND at CHLA, and other nutrition initiatives. She also interned with SC-CTSI’s Clinical Research Informatics core, where she helped introduce NIH data repositories—such as the National COVID Cohort Collaborative and the All of Us Research Hub—to the USC research community through trainings, educational materials, and by documenting workflows from her own studies on these informatics platforms.

Interests

Celine enjoys weight lifting, grooming her Bichon Frisé, and painting outdoors or while traveling.
