Kaytee Canfield, PhD

SC CTSI Role
Kaytee helps support the evaluation needs of SC CTSI and its core groups. This includes evaluation planning, design, implementation, data analysis, and reporting. Evaluation & Improvement works collaboratively with SC CTSI directors, teams, and partners to document success and identify evaluative needs for continuous improvement.

Professional Background
Dr. Canfield has a PhD in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island and an MA and a BS in Environmental Studies from the University of Southern California. Trained as an interdisciplinary social scientist, some of Kaytee's past research has focused on inclusive science communication, justice of tourism development, process improvement in community-engaged research, and perspectives on environmental change. Before joining SC CTSI, Dr. Canfield worked as a social scientist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency leading the translational science team. Her other past roles spanned environmental and science communication education, research, and practice.
Interests
Outside of work, Kaytee loves to spend time outdoors - exploring new places, relaxing on the beach, running, road biking, hiking, or walking her dogs. You might alternatively find her doing yoga, reading a thriller, or catching up on some anthropological study of the Real Housewives.
