Professional Background
Dr. Nhu Tran, PhD, RN, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Southern California (USC) and a certified Neonatal Intensive Care Unit critical care nurse at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. Her integrated clinical and research program focuses on improving neurodevelopmental outcomes and addressing health inequities among high-risk neonates and infants. Dr. Tran earned her PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar and holds BSN and MSN degrees from USC. Her research has been funded from the National Institute of Nursing Research. She chairs the Research Committee of the National Pediatric Nurse Scientist Collaborative and directs the Introduction to Clinical and Translational Research Study Design course at the Southern California Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. She has published in journals including Pediatric Research, presented at national conferences, and received awards recognizing her research and scholarship.
