Susan Firestone, MD

Co-Director of Data Science

SC CTSI Role

Since 2023, Dr. Firestone has served as Co-Director of Data Science at SC CTSI. In this role, she led the revamp of the CHLA data service desk, streamlining processes to improve responsiveness and support for investigators and research teams. She has overseen a wide range of data science projects, including the development of new tools and workflows to facilitate secure, efficient access to clinical data for research, and the implementation of advanced analytics to support translational research initiatives.

Professional Background

Dr. Firestone completed her undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University, her MD at Yale School of Medicine, her residency in Anesthesiology at Yale New Haven Hospital, and her Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
