SC CTSI Role

Swaroop Samek is a Senior Systems and Software Engineer with the Data Science team at SC CTSI. He oversees the systems and infrastructure supporting SC CTSI’s research and clinical REDCap platforms and OpenSpecimen. His responsibilities include systems architecture, application and database administration, automation, integration, security, performance optimization, and ongoing platform support.

He works closely with research teams to provide secure and reliable systems for collecting, managing, and integrating clinical and research data. His work helps ensure that SC CTSI’s research data platforms remain scalable, highly available, and responsive to the evolving needs of investigators and research teams.

Professional Background

In addition to his role at SC CTSI, Swaroop is a Senior Technical Architect at the USC Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR), where he designs and supports the technology and infrastructure behind large-scale research projects. His work spans systems and cloud architecture, software development, data engineering, and automation.
