In this 2-hour workshop, we will discuss strategies for managing lab finance. Junior faculty members will discuss how to engage trainees and volunteers in a manner that supports their efforts while furthering the goals of the other people.

• Identify opportunities to staff your program without significant capital.
• Select among options to cover costs including salary over cap and personnel.
• Describe the pros and cons of decisions ranging from salary structure to authorship allocation.
• Plan a strategy that engages your colleagues in your success.
