Event Details

During this 1-hour session, SC CTSI Director of Research Ethics Dr. Sabrina Derrington will be in conversation with Dr. Bridget Fernandez and Dr. Matthew Deardorff to discuss ethical considerations relevant to their work creating a pediatric genomic biorepository.

Following this event, you will be able to:

  • Identify ethical considerations relevant to recruitment, consenting, analyzing and sharing of patients' genomic information in the context of research
  • Describe the role of bioethics in early development of a research study, and the importance of community engagement
