CHLA/TSRI Mentor Training Program registration now open!
Enhance your mentor training skills.
We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the Fall 2025 CHLA/TSRI Mentor Training Program (MTP). Following the format of training from the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER), the Mentor Training Program will provide a three-part, virtual training via Microsoft Teams covering topics related to improving and strengthening research mentoring relationships.
This interactive and discussion-based program includes breakout rooms and case studies in every session to foster deeper engagement and peer learning. To ensure a rich and collaborative experience, space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The course will cover the following competencies. Participants must attend all three sessions to receive credit for completing the course:
Session 1: Introduction and Aligning Expectations
Facilitator: Dr. Tamara Simon
Tuesday, September 2, 2025 | 12:00–2:00 PM
Session 2: Cultural Humility & Belonging and Promoting Professional Development
Facilitators: Drs. Hanna Song and Beth Smith
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 | 12:00–2:00 PM
Session 3: Fostering Independence and Cultivating Ethical Behavior
Facilitator: Dr. Lorraine Kelley-Quon
Tuesday, September 16, 2025 | 12:00–2:00 PM
This program is offered to individuals who are serving in any type of research mentor role (whether formally or informally).
