Education Resource Center: Creating a Welcome Video for Your Research or Teaching

Overview

This 90-minute interactive workshop, co-hosted by the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI) Workforce Development Digital Scholar program and Education Resource Center, presents tips for recording short videos that can serve as welcomes, or introductions, to one's research or teaching. Participants will work with colleagues in breakout groups to script and record their videos and provide peer feedback. No prior video recording experience is necessary.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify recording dos and don'ts 
  • Script a welcome video using a provided template 
  • Record a sample video 
  • Provide feedback on a colleague's video
