Background

Frank Attenello graduated from Yale University, followed by medical school at Johns Hopkins, with dedicated time as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellow. He completed neurosurgical residency at USC with a research/postdoctoral fellowship in brain tumor genetics at the University of California, San Francisco. Frank subsequently joined the USC faculty in 2016 specializing in neuro-oncology in the clinic and the laboratory. With his mentor, Dr. Berislav Zlokovic and the assistance of the CTSI CTR Scholar award, he is investigating the effects of host pericyte and vascular deficiencies on the growth of glioblastoma in the laboratory.
