SC CTSI Announces Awards to Researchers at USC and CHLA

Congratulations to the awardees selected from among 120 proposals.

The awards focus on five key areas of translational science: Translational Research, Career Development, Academic-Community Partnerships, Technological Development, and Multidisciplinary Team Development.

Among the funded SC CTSI Pilot Award proposals for the 2014 spring cycle are:

  • The Role of Fibroblast Growth Factor 10 (FGF10) in Necrotizing Enterocolitis - Proposed by: Denise Al Alam, Ph.D.
  • A Novel Genetics Platform for the Dissection of Complex Traits - Proposed by: Hooman Allayee, Ph.D.
  • Investigation of the Neural Mechanisms of Sensorimotor Integration in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder - Proposed by: Stefanie Bodison, DOT
  • Optimizing Therapy for RUNX1-defective Breast Cancer - Proposed by: Nyam-Osor Chimge, Ph.D.
