The Community Engagement (CE) Core of the Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI) has released their 2024 annual report. This year's report outlines several key initiatives, such as the expansion of place-based projects across South Los Angeles, the enhancement of capacity-building training programs for community health workers, and collaborations with the Southern California Center for Latino Health to adapt health-based initiatives. Additionally, the report celebrates the successful completion of the fourth year of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) project, the organization of two health fairs to distribute resources directly to the community, and advancements in the methods used for evaluation and dissemination of their work.

“2024 was an exciting and impactful year for the Community Engagement team,” stated Nicole Wolfe, PhD, Co-Director of Community Engagement at SC CTSI. “We continued to strengthen and expand academic and community partnerships, grow our education and capacity-building training programs, and contribute to a range of research initiatives.”
CE remains committed to empowering and uplifting communities in Los Angeles, aspiring to serve as a model for other academic and medical institutions.
