SC CTSI Director Tom Buchanan Named Vice Dean for Research

He will serve as a liaison between the Office of the Dean and the clinical department chairs and faculty.

As the new Vice Dean for Research at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, SC CTSI Director Thomas A. Buchanan, MD, will serve as a liaison between the Office of the Dean and the clinical department chairs and faculty.

His duties include implementation of programs to support the clinical research mission, oversight of clinical research administration activities, and support and guidance for translational research.

Dr. Buchanan is a highly respected clinical investigator and a talented administrator. He is professor of medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and physiology and biophysics; co-director, Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute; Chief, Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine.
