SC CTSI Joins USC Retreat, "Navigating the University: Research & Resources Management

USC faculty and staff experts in specific areas will provide knowledge and first-hand experiences.

The USC Center for Excellence in Research is hosting a half-day retreat "Navigating the University: Research & Resources Management".

The event is intended for research investigators in all disciplines: the sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences who are wanting to learn about the resources available to them at USC, which includes all new faculty and postdoctoral scholars.

The goal of the retreat is to allow the participants to become successful in managing the resources and people within research labs, enabling significant research that puts investigators on the path toward tenure. The retreat will follow HHMI’s format for training in scientific management.

Topics include:

  • Leadership and Mangement
  • Mentoring and Supervising
  • Financial Management and Budgeting
  • Laboratory Safety
  • University Resources
