Featured in USC News: SC CTSI and USC Partner to Develop Films to Increase COVID Vaccinations

A recent article from USC News featured SC CTSI Co-Director and the Director of Community Engagement program, Dr. Michele Kipke alongside Community Engagement program Co-Director Dr. Lourdes Baezconde-Garbanati. The article discusses their work on VaccinateLA, a multimedia campaign to increase vaccinations in Los Angeles. In partnership with USC Annenberg, CTSI was able to produce short films and other videos aimed at educating communities of color about the COVID-19 vaccine through immersive storytelling. Dr. Kipke explains the importance of developing culturally-tailored messages in specific neighborhoods. Dr. Baezconde-Garbanati shares the positive responses from the White House and its COVID-19 Community Corps, who have shown these videos to their stakeholders.
