SC CTSI Awards Nearly $900,000 To Support Translational Research

SC CTSI funds 21 awardees for the Spring 2012 award cycle.

For the Spring 2012 award cycle, we received 200 applications. Of those 200, 21 proposals were selected to receive SC CTSI support, totaling nearly $900,000; that’s more than any previous award cycle.

“Our funding opportunities do support a wide range of research needs, career stages, and disciplines," said Melanie Funes, PhD, associate director of the SC CTSI Research Development program. 

The Spring 2012 award cycle issued funds in the following categories:

  • Community-based Health Intervention
  • Mentor-based Training Bridge Awards
  • Multidisciplinary Research Pilot Awards
  • Novel Methods and Technologies
  • Research Pilot Awards
