Clinical Research Informatics

The Clinical Research Informatics (CRI) core provides expertise in clinical data extraction, integration, and secure data management to accelerate translational research across USC, CHLA, and partner institutions. The team supports access to real-world data through tools like TriNetX and i2b2, and delivers robust, user-friendly data capture solutions such as REDCap and OpenSpecimen. CRI also facilitates access to specialized datasets and federated research networks, including SEDOH, ENACT, and All of Us.

In addition, the core offers expert, full-service consultation on research data strategies—guiding investigators in selecting appropriate data sources and technologies for grant proposals and study design. Through these services, CRI advances the seamless integration of clinical care and research, supporting investigators with the tools and guidance needed to conduct high-impact, data-driven studies.
